SAFE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM
Anyone who works with or near children in a parish-sponsored program or facility must complete the St. Louis Archdioces' Safe Environment Program. Designed to ensure the safety of all our children, this program has a comprehensive four step process. All Coaches and Managers (Instructional thru High School) must be in compliance!
1. Attend a Virtus Protecting God’s Children Workshop. Link to View Protecting God’s Children Workshop Schedule: http://www.virtusonline.org/virtus
2. Fill out a Worker Registration Form. This form allows the parish SEP the ability to update your background check every even numbered year. The Worker Registration Form can be found in this page below. Please fill it out and return it to the parish rectory. (It is very important that you provide an email address on this form.)
3. Complete a criminal records check from the Family Care Safety Registry. There is a one- time $13.00 fee plus a $1.25 processing fee.
4. Commit to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clergy, Employees and Volunteers Working With Minors in the Archdiocese. Packets are available at the rectory office found below. Paperwork can be turned in to Mary Robert, IC Safe Environment Coordinator, by scanning and sending it through email or by dropping it off at the parish rectory office.
I hope this information helps you better understand what is required of you. I am available to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to contact me via email or phone. I thank you for your cooperation and look forward to working with you.
